At the end of the day, this is just more excellence from Sencut at a very affordable price point. You can find a lot of knives out there in this price range that are not nearly as good. This is a very good knife, and let's compare it to some other knives to see just how big of a knife we've got here.
Comparisons
Sencut Slashkin
The Sencut Slashkin is one of my favorite Sencuts of all time. There are a lot of similarities between the Slashkin and the Borzam, as well as some noticeable differences. The biggest difference is in the blade - the Borzam has a nice, slicey flat grind, while the Slashkin features a wickedly slicey hollow grind that really lives up to its name.
Sencut Serene
The Sencut Serene is probably the best Sencut of all time. When compared to the Borzam, I'll be darned - it's just about the exact same length. This showcases the consistency in size and design across Sencut's lineup.
Civivi Conspirator
The Civivi Conspirator is another excellent knife to compare with the Sencut Borzam. While Civivi is a different brand, the Conspirator provides a very nice size comparison, demonstrating that the Borzam falls within a popular and well-regarded size range for EDC knives.
The Blade
The Borzam features a very nice, slicey blade with a 16 thousandths behind-the-edge thickness. There are not many knives outside of Sencut that offer such good edge geometry and blade geometry in general at this price point. It's so impressive.
The blade shape is a unique take on the drop point, with a wider profile towards the tip for added strength. I really like this wider drop point because it gives the tip a little extra strength. The nice swedge looks good, and of course, the finger choil is the chef's kiss. I love a good finger choil, even when you have a really nice handle like this.
The Handle
The handle on this guy is really, really nice. It's got that nice rounded area for your index finger and then a little curve at the butt of the handle. That's really nice when you're doing powerful pushes down, as it acts as a little extra lock and security in the hand.
The same typical texture on the G10 is a really good texture. It's enough to give a good amount of grip but not something that's going to eat up your jeans. On the back, you have a very simple satin clip, but it is deep carry with plenty of room to get through the pocket hem. There are no hotspots, and it feels really, really good.
Flawless Fit and Finish
Again, back to the regular standard here—there's just really nothing wrong with it at all. I really like the thumb stud placement and action. Even in the closed position, it just looks good. It's compact and carries really well in the pocket.
The action on this guy is ridiculously smooth. I mean, look at this – break the lock, move the handle down, and it's effortless. It's so stinking smooth. Of course, it's running on bearings. Blade centering is perfect, as I've come to expect from Sencut.
