Key Specs: Olight Oknife
Wait, a pocket knife from renowned flashlight maker Olight?! Yes, it’s true….Olight has entered the pocket knife market with this debut model, the “Oknife” Drever. We liked the ergos and the action, but the ‘chunkiness’ and weight felt a little overbearing relative to some of the other offerings on the market. The N690 blade steel is an interesting choice. It’s an Austrian steel made by Bohler and comes in several different versions so it’s always a bit of a mystery as to how it performs but generally it’s akin to VG-10 (or 440C with a bit of cobolt). It can get very, very sharp but you won’t find it holds an edge as good as say, S30V.
In any case, I’m all for new players in the pocket knife space. Makes for more competition and better products in the long run for us consumers. We didn’t run a full review of this knife but encourage you to check it out at Olight.
