Key Specs: Civivi Elementum II
'Tis the season for giving and so we decided to take a look at the Civivi Elementum II gift set which includes a snow-white Elementum II button lock knife paired with a rather nice StellarQuill pen (quite a name!). Everything comes nicely presented in a cute little gift box so it's all set to be put under the tree 🙂 As we have shared on a number of previous occasions, the Elementum is a great little EDC, which now now sports a handy button lock which works remarkably well.

This one has Civivi's Nitro-V steel (think modified AEB-L or 13C26 steel), it's perfectly fine for most daily applications but does not come close to many of the real super steels on the market today. Balance, ergos, form and function are all very reasonable which for me put this knife firmly in the affordable get-the-job-done category.

The G-10 scales are well made and have a good feel in the hand. Just the right amount of grip for a knife like this and it's intended use. Moreover, the Elementum just looks great - it's a subtle design that is deliberately understated and in that lies it's major strength and makes it a perfect gift to those perhaps not so nerdy about knives as you are 🙂

Now, the StellarQuill pen won't be getting much use in my household to be fair, but it's nicely made and functions adequately. Overall a thoughtful little inclusion by Civivi and really rounds out the package here. We also picked up a WE/Civivi knife roll which comes in handy for carry all those knives we seem to accumulate these days! You can see everything discussed here over at Civivi.com.
